Define lampbrush chromosomes.

Lampbrush chromosome were first observed by Flemming in 1882 in sections of Salamander oocytes. They were describe by Ruckert (1892). These are presents in primary oocyte nuclei of vertebrates as well as invertebrates. These are known as lampbrush because they appear like brushes used for cleaning lamps.
