Solution
Latent heat of vaporisation- It can be defined as the amount of heat needed for the conversion of 1 kg of liquid at its boiling point to gas at the same temperature.
The temperature remains constant during the boiling of liquid because all the heat energy which is applied is used up in changing the state of water from liquid to gaseous state i.e. Vapour.
