  1. Loudness - Loudness is defined as the property of sound which is used for differentiating between the loud and faint sounds.
  2. Amplitude is the characteristic of the sound that determines the loudness of the sound.
  3. It is directly proportional to the square of the amplitude of vibration.
  4. If the amplitude of the sound wave becomes double, then the loudness of the sound will be quadrupled.
  5. It is expressed in decibel (dB). Sounds above 80 dB become noise to human ears.
  6. The pitch can be louder if the loudness is increased.
