A machine is a device that allows us to conduct work at one place and deliver it to another in order to complete the task quickly.
Machines, in essence, function as force multipliers, meaning that the net effort generated by the machine is significantly more than the effort applied.
Example: A jack is used to raise a bus or automobile, whereas pulleys are used to raise huge items.
In all of these cases, the effort is far less than the load. As a result, machines act as a force multiplier.
