Melting point of solid:
The temperature at which solid changes to a liquid state.
When we supply heat energy to the ice at 0oC.
It will absorb the heat and the forces between the ice particles start breaking and hence ice melts to a liquid state.
The heat absorbed by the ice will increase the kinetic energy of particles of ice.
