  • A metalloid is a type of chemical element which has a preponderance of properties in between, or that are a mixture of metals and non-metals.
  • Metalloids are solid
  • They have a metallic luster, and generally look like metals.
  • They are brittle, and easily shattered.
  • Metalloids can conduct electricity, but not as well as metals.
  • For example – Silicon, Germanium, antimony , Arsenic, etc.
