The change of position of an object with respect to time is called motion
An object is said to be in motion if it changes its position with respect to the stationary surroundings with the passage of time.
Example- Ball falling freely from the top of a building. it is in the state of motion.
It depends upon the frame of reference to determine the state of rest and motion of an object.
