Solution

Theory of evolution

Darwin's theory of evolution is called natural selection because it suggests that the best-adapted organisms are selected by nature to pass on their characteristics to the next generation.

Natural selection

  1. Offspring whose traits are best suited to their environment survive and pass on those variations to their offspring.
  2. This is called natural selection (or survival of the fittest).
  3. When these variations accumulated over a long period of time, lead to the origin of new species.

Thus, evolution related to living organisms is called natural selection.
