Neuron/nerve cell
Neuron or nerve cell is the structural and functional unit of nervous system.
It has a cell body called
cyton.
Many small fibres extend from the cell body called as
dendrites.
There is a single long fibre extending from the cell body called
axon.
The fibres conduct the messages from one part of the body to the other part.
