Solution

Nutrient cycling :

  1. The exchange of inorganic nutrients between biotic and abiotic factors of the environment is termed nutrient cycling.
  2. When living organisms such as plants and animals die, their dead remains are decomposed by decomposers into inorganic nutrients.
  3. These are again utilized by producers to synthesize organic compounds which are consumed by primary consumers.
  4. Hence, organic compounds are passed from producers to primary consumers and then to secondary consumers, and finally to tertiary consumers.
