Kelvin scale of temperature:

The temperature scale developed by Lord Kelvin in which -273° C is treated as zero.

  • In this scale, the magnitude of one degree of Celsius scale is the same as that of the magnitude on the Kelvin scale.
  • This scale of temperature is also known as the absolute scale or the thermodynamic scale of temperature.
  • Degree Celsius value can be easily converted into Kelvin scale by adding a value of 273 to it.
  • This scale is a positive scale for the gases as the lowest possible hypothetical temperature for the gases is 0 K.
