Definition: A physical change is one in which the shape, size, appearance, or state of a substance may alter, and the chemical composition remains the same.
No new substance is formed. It is usually a change, which is reversible.
By reversing the process, the original substance can be obtained.
Example:
Heating of Ice: When ice is kept at room temperature, it starts melting to form water. though ice and water are physically different, both are made up of water molecules.
Freezing of Ice: When water is refrigerated or cooled, it solidifies to form ice.
