Root pressure is the transverse osmotic pressure within the cells of a root system that causes sap to rise through a plant stem to the leaves.
Osmotic pressure is the minimum pressure which needs to be applied to a solution to prevent the inward flow of its pure solvent across a semipermeable membrane.
in simple words, when root pressure occurs solution/water doesnt need to enter again (twice) that can be prevented by osmaotic pressure.( A solute is the substance to be dissolved (sugar). The solvent is the one doing the dissolving (water).
