Scalars
Definition:
Scalars are quantities that are fully described by a magnitude (or numerical value) alone.

They are independent of direction. No matter which direction you choose, scalars always have same value. They are always positive .
Eg : distance, speed, mass etc.

Vectors
Definition:
Vectors are quantities that are fully described by both a magnitude and a direction.

They are dependent on direction . They can be positive or negative.
Eg: displacement, velocity, force etc.
