Reproduction is a biological process and an essential life process that involves the formation of a new organism or offspring by the parent organism.

Reproduction in plants:

There are two modes of reproduction in plants which are sexual and asexual.

Sexual reproduction:

  1. It is a type of reproduction that occurs through the process of pollination (transfer of pollen grains from the anther to the stigma of the same or another flower).
  2. In sexual reproduction, the flower is required and the formation of a new organism takes place through the process of fertilization (the union of male and female gametes to form a zygote).
