Sexually transmitted disease:

  1. The disease which is transmitted through sexual intercourse with infected persons is called sexually transmitted disease.
  2. Some STDs can be passed from mother to baby before or during birth.
  3. Other modes of transfer are breastfeeding and sharing of infected needles.

Examples of STDs are HIV-AIDS, gonorrhea, and syphilis.
