2. SONAR uses ultrasonic waves which have a frequency of more than 20,000 Hz and can easily penetrate into the water and can travel long distances without much loss of energy.
3. It is a detecting system to find the depth of seabeds, submarines, etc.
4. It is helpful for exploring and mapping the ocean because sound waves travel farther in water than do radar and light waves.
