Spermiogenesis is the process of transformation of spermatids into fully developed sperm cells with a head, neck middle piece and a tail. The non motile spermatids get transformed into motile sperms.

Spermiation is the process of final release of sperm cells from the seminiferous tubules, under the influence of hormonal and physiological factors.
