1. Distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered" during its motion.
2 . Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall change in position.
3. Scalar : Scalar means magnitude. Scalar quantity means physical quantities which depends only on the magnitude not in direction.
Eg. Speed,distance
4.Vector : vector means magnitude and direction.
vector quantity means physical quantity which depends magnitude as well as direction.
eg.Velocity, displacement
5.Speed : the distance travelled by a body in a particular duration of time.I.E distance÷time
6.Velocity: displacement of a body in a particular duration of time...i.e displacement÷time.
