Compound leaf:

1. Various leaves arise from the mid-vein which is attached to the stem with the help of the petiole in which tipules are present at the bottom of the mid-vein.
2. It has a mid-vein attached to the stem which contains many leaflets.
3. This type of arrangement is divided into two subdivisions- Pinnately compound leaves and Palmately compound leaves.
