Solution
- A homogeneous mixture of two or more substances is called a solution.
- It is also called a true solution
- The two main components of the solution are solute and solvent.
- Solute: The component usually presents in lesser of the solution that is dissolved in the solvent is called the solute. it can be a gas, liquid, solid.
- Solvent: The component usually present in the larger quantity of the solution that dissolves the other component in it is called the solvent, it can be a gas, or liquid.
Depending upon the amount of solute present in comparison to solvent, a solution is classified as diluted and concentrated solution
Concentrated solution
- The solution in which the amount of solute is relatively more as compared to the amount of solvent is called concentrated solution.
- A liquid with a high solute concentration is called a concentrated solution.
- There will be a significant amount of water will present.
- Example: Conc. sulphuric acid
