1. Ethyl alcohol $\left(C_2{H}_{5}OH\right)$ is the most common industrial solvent.
2. There are a wide range of organic compounds that are soluble in Ethyl alcohol or Ethanol.
3. To prevent the usage of Ethanol as beverages, a small amount (approximately $5\%$) of Methanol $\left(C{H}_{3}OH\right)$ is added to it.
4. This makes Ethanol unfit for drinking and is called denatured spirit.
