Latent heat of vaporisation
Latent heat of vaporisation: The amount of heat energy required to change 1 kg of a liquid into a vapor at atmospheric pressure without any change in temperature at its boiling point is known as latent heat of vaporisation.
Example: When a pot of water is kept boiling, the temperature remains at 100 °C until the last drop evaporates as the additional heat is absorbed as the latent heat of vaporisation.
