1. The process by which organisms obtain their food and convert them into simpler components to gain energy is known as nutrition.
2. Nutrition can be classified into two types:
   • Autotrophic nutrition.
   • Heterotrophic nutrition.
3. The type of nutrition in which organisms can make their own food is known as autotrophic nutrition. For example-green plants.
4. The type of nutrition in which organisms cannot make their own and depends on the plants for nourishment is known as heterotrophic nutrition. For example- Man, goat etc.
