1. In a lunar eclipse, the earth gets in the way of the sun’s light hitting the moon. This occurs during nighttime. Owing to the influence of the earth’s atmosphere on the moon, the moon appears reddish in colour.
2. When only a part of the moon moves into the shadow of the earth, is called a partial lunar eclipse.
