Open in App
Solution

  • The important parts of a plant cell are:-
1) Cell wall is a rigid organelle composed of cellulose.
  • It lies outside the cell membrane.
  • It gives shape to the plant cell and also protects the cell.
2) Plama membrane or cell membrane is a bilipid layer.
  • It separates the cell from its external environment.
  • It is selectively permeable and also protects the cell and provides stability.
3) Cytoplasm is a jelly-like substance composed of water.
  • It is found between the cell membrane and nucleus.
  • All the organelles are present here.
  • Eg- Endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus, plastids (speciifc to plant cells), mitochondria, lysosomes etc.
4) Nucleus is the largest organelle in the cell.
  • It is surrounded by a double membrane called the nuclear envelope.
  • The genetic materials DNA is present here on special strands called chromosomes.
  • It is called the control center of the cell (for cell metabolism and reproduction).
