Root pressure

  1. Root pressure is a positive hydrostatic pressure,i.e., pressure by water, which is created in the vascular bundles of roots as a result of which the cell sap rises upward through the stem.
  2. Root pressure is high when the rate of transpiration is low and the moisture content in soil is high.
