Ductility

Open in App
Solution

Defining ductility:

  1. The word ‘ductile’ means that a substance can be drawn into thin wires.
  2. The property of a metal that allows it to be pulled into the thin wire is known as ductility.
  3. Due to the fact that most metals are ductile, ductility is another significant feature of metals.
  4. However, not all metals are similarly ductile. Some metals are more ductile than others, as may be seen. GoldAu and SilverAg are the most ductile metals. CopperCu, AluminumAl, MagnesiumMg, IronFe, and TungstenW are among the other ductile metals.
  5. Due to their ductility, all of these metals may be pulled into thin wires.
