  • A mixture is formed when atoms or molecules of the same or different particles combine with each other physically.
  • For example - Air is a mixture of gases like Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen, Oxygen, etc; dust, Water vapors.
  • Mixtures are majorly divided into two categories - Homogeneous and Heterogeneous mixtures.
  • Heterogeneous mixtures are those mixtures that do not have uniform composition and their constituents can be seen from naked eyes.
  • For example - a mixture of sand and water, a mixture of iron filings and sand, etc.
