Defining Malleability

  1. The word ‘malleable’ means that a substance can be beaten with a hammer to form thin sheets.
  2. Malleability is the property of a metal that allows it to be drawn into sheets.
  3. It changes with the temperature. GoldAu, SilverAg, CopperCu, ironFe, are the metals that have this property. This trait of malleability is not present in all metals.
  4. Some exceptions include- Sodium.
