Tidal volume :

The volume of air inspired or expired during normal breathing is known as tidal volume. Its value is approximately 500mL.

Residual volume :

The volume of air that remains in the lungs after forceful expiration is termed as residual volume. This averages 1100mL to 1200mL.

Asthma :

Asthma is an allergic disorder that is characterised by the spasms in the smooth muscles of the bronchial tubes, also called bronchial spasm, or a bronchospasm, thereby narrowing the air passageway. It results in difficult breathing, wheezing sound, coughing etc.
It occurs in some people who are hypersensitive to certain substances like pollen.
