Solution
Solute :
Solute is defined as the component of solution that is present in lesser amount than the solvent. For example, in a solution of sugar and water, sugar is the solute and water is the solvent as sugar is present in lesser amount than the water in sugar water solution.
Solvent :
Solvent is defined as the component of solution that is present in greater amount than the solute. For example, in a solution of salt and water, water is the solvent and salt is the solute as water is present in greater amount than the salt in sugar water solution.
Solution :
The homogenous mixture of solute and solvent is called solution. For example, brass, sugar water, etc.
Conclusion :
Alcohol can be considered as solute in alcohol and water mixture when the quantity of alcohol will be less than water.
