(i) A linkage between two monosaccharide units through oxygen atom is called glycosidic linkage.
(ii) An equimolar mixture of glucose and fructose, obtained by hydrolysis of sucrose in presence of an acid such as dil. HCl or the enzyme invertase is called invert sugar.
(ii) Carbohydrates which on hydrolysis give 2-10 molecules of monosaccharides are called oligosaccharides, e.g. sucrose etc.
