Define the term electric potential. State its S.I. Unit.
An electric potential (also called the electric field potential or the electrostatic potential) is the amount of work needed to move a unit positive charge from a reference point to a specific point inside the field without producing any acceleration. The electric potential at infinity is assumed to be zero.
Its SI unit is joule/coulomb i. e. volts ( Remember that the differences in the potential energy is measured in a voltmeter).
