Resistivity of a Material:

1. The ability to oppose the current flow in a conductor is the resistivity of a material.
2. The electric field at any point within the wire is $E=\frac{V}{L}$and the current density, $j=\frac{i}{A}$, $i$ is the current flow in the wire.

Therefore, the specific resistance of the material of the wire is: $\rho =\frac{E}{j}=\frac{{\displaystyle \frac{V}{L}}}{{\displaystyle \frac{i}{A}}}=\frac{VA}{iL}$$\rho$ is the electrical resistivity, $L$is the Length of the material of a conductor, $A$ is the area of cross-section and $R$ is the resistance.
4. We know, Resistance, $R=\frac{V}{i}$, so resistivity can be written as $\rho =\frac{RA}{L}$,
5. Resistivity is the inverse of conductivity.
6. $Ohm-meter\left(\Omega m\right)$ is the unit of Resistivity.
