Define the term rusting.

Rusting: The process by which objects made of iron like iron nails, iron pipes, and iron grills, when kept in moist air for a few days, get covered with reddish brown powdery substance called rust, and this process is called rusting of iron.

The two conditions, necessary for the rusting of iron are :

1. Presence of oxygen.
2. Presence of water or water vapour.
