Role of transpiration in plants:

1. Transpiration creates a transpirational pull by which water is absorbed by the roots of the plants and transported to all plant parts through the xylem.
2. The water lost by the process of transpiration helps to keep the surface of leaves cool and to maintain the continuous flow of water.
