Ore

1. Ore is the mineral from which metal extraction is done on a commercial scale.
2. Some examples of ores are Bauxite (${\mathbf{Al}}_{\mathbf{2}}{\mathbf{O}}_{\mathbf{3}}\mathbf{.}\mathbf{3}{\mathbf{H}}_{\mathbf{2}}\mathbf{O}$), Haematite (${\mathbf{Fe}}_{\mathbf{2}}{\mathbf{O}}_{\mathbf{3}}$), etc.

Gangue

1. An ore contains some unwanted earthly materials in it. These unwanted materials are called gangue.
2. Gangue is acidic or basic in nature.
