Symbiosis-

  1. In a symbiotic relationship, two organisms live together with such that one or both benefit. It is also called symbiosis.
  2. For example, lichens consist of a fungus and an alga.
  3. The fungus absorbs nutrients from its environment, while the alga, which contains chlorophyll, makes food.

Parasitism-

  1. The organism that benefits from the relationship is called the parasite, and the organism that is harmed is called the host.
  2. This relation is called Parasitism.
  3. For example, mosquitoes are parasites that feed on the blood of hosts such as humans and other animals.

Predator-

  1. An organism that hunts and kills another organism for food is a predator.
  2. For example- The lion is a predator of deer.

Prey-

  1. A prey is an organism that is hunted and killed by another organism to be its food.
  2. For example- deer is the prey to a leopard.

Flora-

  1. The plants in an ecosystem are called flora.

Fauna-

  1. The animals in an ecosystem are called its fauna.
