Transpiration is the biological process by which water is lost in the form of water vapour from the aerial parts of the plants.
Factors affecting the process of transpiration are: sunlight, temperature, wind, and humidity.
Sunlight- During day, stomata remain open to allow diffusion of carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. This leads to increased loss of water from stomata.
Temperature- A high temperature leads to faster evaporation of water from leaf. This increases the rate of transpiration.
Wind- If wind is blowing faster, water vapours are moved away faster from the surface of leaf. This lead to increased transpiration.
Humidity- The rate of transpiration is inversely proportional to relative humidity. More the relative humidity less is the transpiration rate.
