Based on the aim of tourism and the specialties of the destination, tourism can be divided into several types. Some of them are-​

• ​Ecotourism​- If a tour is planned to keep in mind that the environment should not be degraded or damaged by tourists, then it is called ecotourism.
• Agro-tourism- Any agriculturally-based operation or activity that brings visitors to a pollution-free location away from the city is called agro-tourism.
• Adventure tourism​- Adventure tourism is traveling to remote or exotic places in order to take part in outdoor activities that are physically challenging.
• Film Tourism-The locations where films are shot attract a crowd of tourists. Hence, the concept of film tourism emerged.
• Historic Tourism- Travelling to destinations that have historical importance
• Religious tourism- It is the oldest type of tourism that involves people traveling to places of religious significance such as temples, churches, mosques, and more.
