  • Unsaturated solutions are the solutions in which the amount of dissolved solute is less than the saturation point of the solvent.
  • If the amount of dissolved solute is equal to the saturation point of the solvent the solution is called a saturation solution.
  • An example of an unsaturated solution is adding a spoonful of sugar to a cup of hot coffee produces an unsaturated solution.
