Vapourisation can be defined as the process in which the liquid state transforms into the vapor state.
The fixed temperature at which a liquid state is converted into a gaseous state due to the process of vaporization is known as the vaporization point.
Factors affecting the Rate of Vaporization:
Rate of vaporization depends upon the concentration of an evaporating substance in the air.
Intermolecular Forces: The larger the forces in the liquid state that hold the molecules together, the more energy is required by the molecules to get to escape.
Temperature: The higher the temperature of the material, the larger will be the kinetic energy of the molecule and therefore the rate of evaporation will be faster.
