Variations are the differences that are present among individuals of the same species.

  1. Variations that lead to changes in DNA among individuals are called genetic variations.
  2. Such called genetic variation is caused by genetic recombination and mutation.
  3. Genetic recombination occurs due to crossing over and linkage in meiosis I.
  4. Example of variation is skin color, eye color, different textures of hair, etc.
