Vernalization is defined as the method of inducing early flowering in plants by treatment of their seeds at a very low temperature.
Site of vernalization: Meristematic cells of the tips of shoot, embryo, root and developing leaves perceives the stimulus of vernalization.
Advantages of vernalization: (i) Crops can be produced earlier,
(ii) Crops can be grown in the regions where they do not naturally produce.
