Definition,

1. The work done by a force is the product of the displacement and the component of the applied force of the object in the direction of displacement.
2. When we push a block with some force ‘$F$’ the body moves with some acceleration, work is done.
3. Work done is written as $W=F.d$ and its unit is $Joule(J)$ which can be defined as the amount of work done when a force of $1$ Newton is applied to an object, as a result of which, it is displaced by $1$ meter.

Example,

1. Work is dependent on the angle between force and displacement so it is positive as well as negative.
2. Certain examples of work done by a constant force of $2$ Newtons on an object having a mass of $3$ kilograms.
3. Work done in rotating an object around a fixed point.
4. Work done by applying a force of some constant magnitude, etc.
5. Work done by gravitational force.
