There is some truth in this statement because like other's poor people also participate in the election that is a part of democratic setup.By the process of fair elections they chose their representatives who form the government when they are in power.The welfare schemes,projects,poverty alleviation programmes,free education is all what makes life of poor people in democracy worth living.
