Pollination
Pollination is the transfer of pollen from the anther to the stigma of the flower of the plant. Depending upon the source of pollen, the pollination is divided into three types:
1.Autogamy
2.Geitonogamy
3.Xenogamy
Autogamy
Autogamy is a type of pollination in which pollen grains are transferred from the anther to the stigma of the same flower in a plant.
Geitonogamy
Geitonogamy is a type of pollination in which the pollen grains are transferred from the anther of a flower to the stigma of a neighbouring flower of the same plant.
Xenogamy
The type of pollination in which the pollen from the anther of one flower is transferred to the stigma of another flower of another plant is called xenogamy or cross pollination.
