In the given figure, capacitors C1,C2andC3are connected in parallel. The same potential is applied across all the three capacitors. Let Q1,Q2andQ3are charges on the three plates of capacitors such that

Q1=C1V

Q2=C2V

Q3=C3V

The total charge stored is Q=Q1+Q2+Q3 and equivalent capacitance is Ceq=QV

So,

Ceq=Q1+Q2+Q3V

=Q1V+Q2V+Q3V

Ceq=C1+C2+C3
