  3. They can also cause simple allergies and chronic inflammation.
  4. In some cases, the bacteria can advance to the flesh and tissues of the host and hence are called flesh-eating bacteria.
  5. They are responsible for many infectious diseases like pneumonia, tuberculosis, diphtheria, syphilis, and tooth decay.
  6. Some bacteria cause cellulose degradation thereby destroying textiles, wooden articles, and canvas.
